a day in rye.
Last weekend, Frank and I drove up to Rye, NY for a family BBQ at his aunt and uncle's house. We did pretty much everything stereotypical of a BBQ--ate so much food, drank delicious beer, played cornhole, hung out around the fire, etc. Frank's cousins from Georgia suggested we have a "cookie face race," which is a race to get a Nilla wafer from your forehead to your mouth using only your facial muscles. Not to brag...but I was the Grand Champion (hence the hat--which was originally for a family friend's 50th birthday but turned into the Grand Champion hat?). I will definitely bring a box of Nilla wafers to parties from now on so the cookie face race glory can be spread. ;)
dress: vintage, thrifted in baltimore | shoes: vintage, thrifted | earrings: claire's
purse: kate spade | necklace: vintage, gift from frank's brother
Most of these photos were taken by the Rye Middle School, which was a beautiful, castle-like building that puts my middle school to shame. I couldn't believe how pretty it was. The stream in some of these pictures runs from the school, through the surrounding neighborhoods, and into Frank's family's yard. The kids used to walk along the water to get to school. How quaint! Ha!
