austin: day two, AM.

After a good night's sleep, Maria and I decided to do a little bit (read: a lot) of shopping and sightseeing before the conference officially started that evening. The weather was pretty nasty, and it was nearly impossible to get a cab at our hotel, so we walked about a mile to the bus stop. I'm actually glad we did that because we got to see parts of Austin which we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. We went to a bunch of different shops on South Congress Street (I'll share more about what I bought in a few days) and ate brunch at the amazing South Congress Cafe! A few things to note in the pictures below--"Sorry We're Open," me wearing a tiny hat, a wall of vintage cowboy boots, and Maria eating a burger the size of her head!

Megon used to work at one of the vintage stores on South Congress. It was called New Bohemia. It's a really awesome store, did you get to stop in? Glad you had fun!! Sometimes I really miss living in Austin!!
