mary blair.
After posting about my trip to Disney yesterday, I decided to keep up with the theme and talk about Mary Blair today. Mary Blair was an artist who worked closely with the Disney company from the 1940s through the 1960s. She is probably best known for her work with the "it's a small world" attraction in Disneyland and Walt Disney World, a giant mural in the Contemporary Resort, and the fiesta scene in El Rio del Tiempo in the Mexico pavilion in the World Showcase at Epcot (one of my guilty pleasure rides). She did a lot of art for some Disney animated films, including "Alice in Wonderland," "Peter Pan," and "Cinderella." Here are some of my favorite Blair illustrations and a photo of the lady herself.
