ups and downs.
Guys, I'm in a weird mood. Yesterday was my first day off in a while, and unfortunately it was full of petty arguments (with my family and Frank), scattered thunderstorms, and general laziness. On the days I'm not at my internship, I'm always torn between either relaxing and doing nothing (it is a day off, after all) or working on things I can't work on during the week. Do I shoot vintage, thrift, blog? Do I do laundry and vacuum? Do I watch "Girls" on HBO GO and not get out of bed? (Spoiler alert--it was the last.)
After fighting with pretty much everyone I love, I decided to sweat out my aggression and clean out the pool/prep it for summer. After that, I showered, ate, and barely left my room. Getting angry with everyone left me feeling unmotivated to do any shop or blog work, so I just lazed around. I'm not proud of that, and now I have even more work to do this week to make up for yesterday. Blerg.
However, today was a new day (which is what Frank said to me this morning to make me stop wallowing)! I interned, then spent the evening with my sister, Erica, two medium caramel iced lattes from Dunkin', and my entire vintage inventory. The whole lot of it had gotten quite jumbled lately and I hate it! I'm usually incredibly organized, but things have been so crazy lately that my storage area was suffering. Fortunately, Erica is the best and we had it all straightened out in a few hours.
Also, I got a very exciting email today. I'm not allowed to mention anything specific, so I'll have to leave it at that for now. I think it's safe to say things are looking up! :)
Thanks for sharing - we all have those days! Sometimes it's okay to just take a day off, it makes for a very productive few days after!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Meaghan! I think you're correct, because today I showed my to-do list who's boss. :D
DeleteWe all have those days and sometimes we need them to make the days that follow better. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, T. Glad to know I'm not alone. <3
