Shop Crush • Crochet it Forward.
Today I'm happy to introduce an awesome new Etsy shop, owned by my pal Nicole – Crochet it Forward! Nicole is dating my friend Mike, who I've known since high school (I'm so old), and when I found out about her shop, I knew I had to share it with you all. Nicole works for an environmental non-profit and is involved in other social issues, which is why she decided to make the shop a one-for-one (like Toms and Warby Parker). For every headband purchased, one is made for someone in need. Crochet it Forward has a great line of crocheted items such as ear warmers/headbands, coffee cozies, and boot cuffs!
From Nicole:
For years I have wanted to learn how to crochet and this fall I finally took a class. It took me a little bit to get the hang of it with my first crochet piece looking like shriveled bacon. After several classes along with practice I got the hang of it and soon became addicted. I find crocheting to be very calming almost meditative and there is a real happiness you get in making items for other people.
I started making gifts for friends and family for the Holidays. With every gift I made I decided to also make one for the children at St. Jude’s Children Hospital. I have always been a supporter and believer in the One for One business model because I believe we can make a difference in everything we do. Once the Holidays were over and I had no one else to make gifts for I decided to take a chance and open an Etsy Shop.
Crochet It Forward is a very new shop, but I am excited for it to grow. I will be adding new items like scarves, hats, and gloves. Also I want to raise awareness about different issues and small non-profits like the Emilio Nares Foundation who I am currently donating too. I am just happy to be making items that will keep people warm, while also warming their hearts.
Check out Nicole's shop, Crochet it Forward, and spread the word if you can. :)
